5! MARY WRIGHT COUNTRY GARDENS BY BAUER COFFEE CUPS 1946 WHITE PROTOS? V. RARE

Description

Very interesting group of 5 Mary Wright cups from the ill-fated Country Gardens line from Bauer Potteries of Atlanta planned for 1946. Since the line never went into production all pieces are rare and these cups are no exception. One cup color is the production mottled uneven green. It is heavier than the white cups. The condition is excellent. No chips, cracks or stains but does have light crazing. The white cups are lighter weight and the glaze is uneven/drippy and has a few misses as well as the dark glaze pop and crazing on the inside of one cup. The white cups are possibly prototypes or glaze tests. 3 cups have the ink stamped Mary Wright signature and block letters Bauer. 2 are very faint.
