    Guayaquil, Ecuador. 1000 Sucres. Banco Comercial Y Agricola, or The Commercial and Agricultural Bank of Guayaquil, was an important bank of the Republic of Ecuador. The Commercial and Agricultural Bank was the main banking entity in the country during the cocoa agro-export boom of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, since it capitalized on the savings of the Guayaquil agro-export sector. It was founded in the city of Guayaquil in 1894 by Ignacio Casimiro Roca , and later chaired by Francisco Urbina Jado (son of former president José María Urbina). It had great importance since 1914 where it is conferred money issuing powers. The hegemonic role of the Commercial and Agricultural Bank was not limited to the economic plane, as it also penetrated politics. Its main official, Francisco Urbina Jado, was in charge of naming the list of candidates who triumphed in the elections through electoral fraud, according to historians, especially from the mountains, but this is contradicted by the investigations made by current Guayaquil historians such as Guillermo Arosemena. and from the time in question as Víctor Emilio Estrada , former Mayor of Guayaquil. After the Juliana Revolution of 1925 and the fall of the Guayaquil bank, this bank disappeared.
