Mdina Isle of Wight Michael Harris Fish Ax Head Studio Glass. Condition is "Used". This vase I purchased at an estate sale in Essex Fells, NJ 19 years ago in 2002.
It’s a beauty and looks most like the Michael Harris example used in his book cover ( see photo ). Whenever I see another, I think, “Mine is prettier”,
There’s the best balance of clear and colored glass, movement and depth and horizontal texture on the outside . It’s mesmerizing.
There are two small inclusions on the same side of the vase- please see photos- the first is a rough, brown are- almost like it was left unpolished & located near the base- the other is a very small chip on the same side. I never knew either was there until I cleaned the vase prior to photographing it for sale.
Their are a few scratches on the base- I did remove the felt pads I placed underneath years ago & recommend felt pads be used again, as glass is slippery, and the felt helps secure the SEVEN POUND work of art.
