Rare antique brass box with chain and spoon

Description

The container measures 3.5 inches x 2.5. The chain and spoon measures 7.5 inches long. It is in very good antique condition. The hinges are intact and working. It was purchased in England but was probably made in Sri Lanka or India, where it was predominantly used.
It is unusual to find one like this in such good condition, with hinges, chain and spoon all intact. It features nicely tooled decoration.
This would have been made to hold lime powder. Because this example was found in England, it might have been used as a snuff box.
The form is reminiscent of, and probably based on, a gentleman’s pocket watch case, and like a watch case would have been held in a pocket or cloth fold.

I use the USPS exclusively for shipping. Most of my packing boxes and packing materials are recycled. I pack carefully and no item I have ever sold was delivered in damaged condition.
All of my items are antique or vintage and show some signs of prior use. Anything significant is observable in the photos or described or both.
