Mdina Glass
vase, hand blown on the Mediterranean island of Malta. It is signed (engraving) on the base "Mdina," where the pontil mark has been ground smooth, aside from a small indentation that remains from where the punty (blowpipe) would have been attached during the creative process.

Excellent vintage condition! No cracks, chips, nicks, scuffs, flea bites, flakes, hairlines, repairs or evidence of grinding can be seen or felt. Any natural indentations, bubbles, tool marks and/or any other natural textural features are all original to this piece and normal for hand blown glass. Wear to the base is consistent with age.

Ever since Eric Dobson and Michael Harris came to Malta to open the island's first glass factory way back in 1968, Mdina Glass has endeavored to establish and maintain a reputation for artistic innovation, quality, and consistency in each and every individual piece of glassware produced by its artisans.
