Description
Found this info on a website search:'This 7+" high 'loving cup' appears to be black until a light shines through it and then you can see the amethyst colors shine through. This is 6" wide at the handles. A design of two (2) women dancing (modern dance of the era).
This is from the California Pacific International Exposition in San Diego in 1935, which was held in Balboa Park. As this 'cup' only has the 'dancing women' on it it would be considered a 'blank' to be printed with
San Diego
when more finished 'cups' were needed. This would have been a delightful way to remember a past exposition and the San Diego area.'

Black amethyst
glass appears black until it is held to the light, then a dark purple can be seen. Glass has been made in many factories from 1860 to the present. Bowls and vases are the most common collectibles made of black amethyst.
The last photo above was taken held up to the light. No chips or cracks.
